Nebula Tutorial.
First, you need to have these things :
- acrylic (with blue, red, yellow, black and white, you can have every color you want)
- brushes (different sizes, hard and soft)
- water (a lot)
- the stuff you want to paint
You will need at the first time : dark blue et black. With your larger brush paint some kind of cloud. Add a lot of water in your paint, the fabric should absorb and mix the colors together. Let it dry. You should have something like that :
Mix your colors to make a light purple. When your fabric is totaly dry, with a lot a water, draw the nebula base everywhere you want. You don’t need to be precise, just apply some touch of color.
Then, add a bit of white (water++ again) sometimes in the center of your nebula, sometimes around. You can even put a bit (a little bit) of white in the dark blue (but not everywhere!)Add also some touch of red at some places.For the result to be more natural, you can take a large brush and put water over all your fabric. The colors will be mixed together. Let it dry again.
At the end, paint little crosses (stars) and with a tooth brush (or a heavy brush) make little white points everywhere (I don’t really how to explain it but you’ve got to scratch, to rub the brush full of acrylic with your nail, sorry this part is not clear at all)You can add touch of lighter blue if you find it’s too dark. Put some touch of white (just a bit on a heavy brush, without water) around your nebula. You can try to draw some kind of spirals with the white…
For the result to be very nice, paint on cotton (this is denim on the photo and the result is not as beautiful as my shoes I did), don’t be affraid to put a lot of water on your painting, let dry when this is said you have to let it dry (I know this is hard to wait, but put some nail polish, watch a movie, go shopping, or use you hair dryer if you really can’t wait!)
